Tax and Budget

West Virginia needs to raise adequate revenue in a fair, responsible, and sustainable manner to meet critical responsibilities such as education, public safety, and health care, and to build a strong economy.  The Center’s work on tax and budget issues focuses on budget transparency and accountability, the impact of state and local tax proposals, and federal policies that impact the state. Our goal is to identify sound policy solutions that ensure fairness and protect the long-term fiscal health of the state.
